Attend regular check ups with your doctor for Asthma Checkup

If you have mild to moderate asthma you should be called for an annul check-up so your doctor can

measure your lung function and have a general chat about your condition and how you are coping with it.

It is important that you go to these appointments as the doctor may feel that your condition has progressed and you need stronger medication to control the symptoms.

Similarly you may feel that your asthma has worsened so your annual check-up is the perfect opportunity to discuss the matter. People with more severe asthma may be called more regularly, especially if they suffer with other medical conditions as well.

If it is months until your next scheduled appointment but you feel your medication is no longer working, then make an early appointment.

Your doctor would much rather see you early than know that you are struggling to cope with your current medication. You should also make an appointment at the first signs of a cold, the flu or any kind of infection, especially a chest infection.

Asthma can be a difficult condition to live with so you should make every effort to make it as easy as possible, and that includes regular trips to the doctor, even if you only have the odd question to ask.
