Invest in a Nebulizer And dehumidifier

Severe asthmatics find that a wide range of irritants and agents cause them problems

and the dry air that is often present in the home and in the work place only intensifies the symptoms felt.

Unfortunately, many people don’t realise that the dry air has a detrimental effect and typically do nothing to remedy the problem. A nebulizer allows an asthma sufferer to breathe air with water vapour added, which helps to lubricate the trachea and wash away some of the agents that may be causing breathing difficulties.

Even people with mild asthma might want to invest in a nebulizer so that they don’t need to use their inhalers quite as much at home. They really do help with heavy breathing and are totally, natural meaning fewer drugs need to be taken in order to control and alleviate your condition.

Invest in a dehumidifier

One of the most common causes of asthmatic episodes is the dust mite, or more specifically the dust mite droppings. Vacuuming and general cleanliness can help to eradicate the problem within your home, however there will always be a large number left behind regardless of how hard you try to get rid of them.

A dehumidifier can lower the humidity levels in the home so that dust mites find it a lot harder to reproduce. This means that with continued good hygiene the number of dust mites lurking in bedding, mattresses and cushions can be dramatically reduced and the frequency with which you suffer from your asthma will similarly be reduced.

It may be that you only feel the symptoms of your asthma in the bedroom (as the mattress and bedding is the favored environment for the dust mite), so it will suffice to have a small portable dehumidifier in the corner of the room.

This is a very unimposing object and it can greatly improve the breathing of an asthmatic who is allergic to the household dust mite.
