Make sure you have an annual flu-shot

Everybody diagnosed with asthma will have the opportunity to receive an annual flu-shot which inoculates

against the newest form of flu. Again, it is vitally important that you go to your appointment when called.

The virus that causes the flu evolves each year, so the shot you had last year will not protect against this years flu bug.

If you have had asthma for a while you will know that even a simple cold can make normal everyday life very difficult, so contracting the flu can, in severe cases of asthma be very dangerous.

Any infection that affects the lungs and the trachea will cause major problems for asthmatics, so you should do everything you can to limit the chances of picking up an infection or of contracting the flu.
